Key Attributes and Skills
- Providing advice and supporting clients in fulfilling their duties under the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
- Reviewing plans and designs to ensure compliance for Building Regulation approval
- Attending client and design team meetings to offer technical guidance
- Liaising with clients, contractors, developers, and other stakeholder
- Ensuring project designs meet current legislation and regulatory standards
- Maintaining high technical and commercial standards across all deliverables
- Identifying and escalating new business opportunities
- Building and growing a network of industry contacts
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners across multidisciplinary projects
Ideally, you will be degree-qualified with relevant experience within the construction industry, such as architecture, building control, building surveying, or a similar discipline. A full driving licence and access to your own transport are essential, as some travel will be required.
What we are looking for:
- Strong understanding of the design and construction process
- Proven experience inspecting buildings and assessing compliance
- In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations, codes, and associated legislation
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Membership of RICS, CIAT, CABE, CIOB or a similar professional body
- An up-to-date record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Proficiency in SharePoint and other project management tools
- Ability to produce technical documentation such as End of Design Stage Reports and Building Regulations Trackers
