CDM Coordination / Project Safety

Nearly all the CDM Coordinators duties are to ensure things are done and completed to your satisfaction. Here is a breakdown of the service we can provide you...

• Advising the client on what information he/she has to supply.
• Advising the client on the competence and allocation of resources by any or all of the designers and contractors.
• Notifying the HSE of the project.
• Ensuring that health and safety matters are properly co-ordinated and taken into account during the design phase. This will entail meetings with the designers, carrying out risk assessments, and advising designers on health and safety matters.
• Preparing the health and safety plan as far as possible for inclusion in the tender documents (the pre-tender plan).
• Preparing a health and safety file for each structure comprised in the project. This is commenced as soon as the Planning Supervisor is appointed and continues to be reviewed, amended, and added to throughout the design and construction phases. This will entail meetings with contractors and visits to the site throughout the construction period.
• Contributing to the assessment of returned tenders with regards to health and safety matters.
• Advising the client as to whether the health and safety plan prepared by the principal contractor is satisfactory, and that construction may therefore start.
• Monitoring the actions of all other parties on behalf of the client to ensure they comply with their duties under the regulations.

On completion of construction, ensuring the completed health and safety file for each structure is handed over.
